Re: View from the opposition - Wolves, away
If Robert Plant wants to sing about Middle Earth then he can bloody well do it. If he wants to wear painfully tight jeans with his one eyed trouser snake looking like it’s fighting to get out, then so be it. And Len’s brother probably deserved it anyway.

They were brothers, not sons.

And I will refrain from saying anything else other than suggesting that the tale of Beren and Luthien is extraordinarily beautiful.

All that Kili son of Fili, Oin son of Gloin bollocks. And those god-awful poems/songs.

LZ = a Poundland The Who.

Re: View from the opposition - Wolves, away
Hmm. You do have a point, Len (about the lyrics).

Using Ramble On as an example, while I do like the song overall, it's all going very well, and then right at the end he ruins it by chucking in a bizarre reference to Gollum and Mordor. Why?

I can't bloody bear LotR.

Re: View from the opposition - Wolves, away
LZ plagiarised EVERYTHING they did.

And Robert Plant was rude to my brother once, so he's a cunt.

And his lyrics are dogshit.

Re: View from the opposition - Wolves, away
To be fair there's more to his vocals than his wailing. The chap has range and can have moments of lovely subtlety. As in 'Ramble On'.

onebilly, yeah it was Jason Roberts, don't know why I said Chris Samba but at least I got the team right

Charley.

Jason Roberts was the Blackburn player. I earlier suggested he was at Wigan but am glad to be corrected.

Robert Plant does a very good podcast, far more to him than his wailing vocals.

I think it's best we don't draw the attention of the derps on Twitbook.

Re: View from the opposition - Wolves, away
Cough not sure of the Blackburn one, but remember Adrian Chiles one well , because One Mac asked Adrian Chiles to give some kind of cue that it was genuinely him as WHO being very cynical would not believe him. So on his next broadcast he said he would say certain words in his opening remarks, which he duly did.

Re: View from the opposition - Wolves, away
From the first game, which was against Charlton, we lost 4 – 3 I think, I was hooked. We always seemed to be mid table but then, when I was maybe ten or eleven, we had a season beyond hope, prayer, or reason, and then went on to win three titles in five years. Imagine that. (laughs).

Sorry, you couldn’t possibly, it’s something that your club have never been close to achieving in its entire existence.

No we haven't......then again we haven't come close to emulating the fact that the the mighty Wolves were in the 4th division in the mid1980's either!

FC 12.43 Black Dog is superb also. Stairway To.Heaven just gets overplayed.

Alfs is a self-confessed author/scriptwriter,

Is this him using a very plausible link to a fellow professional in the trade, or him being, well, an author/scriptwriter?

Only YOU, intrepid reader can decide the truth through your immense deductive prowess.

The rest of us have to simply choose between which of the two to believe and argue the case that we're right because, well, because we are.
